Fruit vendor cum terrorist arrested

An LTTE cadre posing off as a fruit vendor was arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Department in Poonagalwatta, Bandarawela on Tuesday evening.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said following a tip-off a suspected LTTE cadre was nabbed by the TID on Tuesday around 4.00 p.m. in Banaragama area. "Initial investigations disclosed that the alleged suspect had joined the LTTE police force in 2003 and was known as "Krishna"in the outfit. He was posing as a fruit vendor in Pettah," he added. The TID are investigating.
