More buses for Sisu Seriya bus service

Sisu Seriya, the school bus service jointly operated by Transport Ministry and the National Transport Commission has increased its fleet to over 500, it is reported. The move to expand the service had the blessings of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.

A sum of nearly Rs. 200 million as allocated by the Budget would be spent to improve the school bus service, he added. The half-rate concessionary service would be supplemented with the addition of another fleet of buses during the current year.
