Stop invasion against Gaza - NAM

United Nations: The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has condemned the Israel military invasion against Gaza Strip and regretted the death of innocent Palestinians, as well as the massive destruction of properties and infrastructure in that territory.

In a declaration issued by NAM Bureau of Coordination disclosed at UN headquarters in New York expressed its concern on Israel invasion by land, daring to defy the world demands in protest.

“This invasion, preceded by aerial bombings, constitutes a flagrant challenge to the demands of the international community in favour of a cease-fire, and to the regional and international efforts to solve the current crisis, it reads.

NAM describes as unacceptable the aggression of Israel against Palestine civilians in Gaza Strip, seriously breaking the international laws, including humanitarian and human rights Laws.

These Israeli operations encourage violence and threaten international peace and security,” NAM says.

After demanding an immediate stop to all military activities and violence, and the establishment of a cease-fire, NAM indicates Israel must respect all their obligations, as occupying power, as established in the international laws and in UN resolutions.

The protection of the Palestine civilian population in Gaza is also demanded by NAM, considering the indiscriminate bombing of Israel, which has affected women and children, among other people.

The Non-Aligned Movement urges country to finish the collective punishment imposed to Palestinians and to allow the opening of Gaza borders to take there humanitarian assistance and other essential materials to alleviate the current crisis.
