Forces overrun Tiger FDLs in Kilali, Muhamalai

Troops advancing towards LTTE’s third FDL

 In full control of Mankulam-Oddusuddan road

The LTTE defence line in Kilali and Muhamalai came under Security Forces’ control as 53 and 55 Divisions operating in the Jaffna front advanced and captured the Tiger defence line some 600 metres ahead of the Forces’ defences yesterday, Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa directed the IGP to launch immediate investigations into the attack and bring the suspects involved in the attack to book expeditiously, the Government Information Department said in a communique yesterday.

Three-wheeler operators forego fuel concession


Three-wheeler operation, members of the Three-wheeler Operators' Union who met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday morning offered to forego the fuel concession granted to them by the recent 'mini-budget' and requested the President to use that money for the welfare of the members of the Security Force.
