Ananda skittled out for 59

A total of 25 wickets fell in a dramatic opening days play as St.
Peter's College took control over Ananda College in a high profile inter
school under 19 cricket tournament match which got underway at Ananda
Mawatha yesterday.
The Anandians were skittle out for their lowest total of 59 runs from
just 15 overs with left arm seamer Chatura Peiris claiming a superb six
wicket haul. This was after St. Peter's College had reached a modest 140
in their first innings.
Middle order batsman Angelo Emmanuel hit a fighting unbeaten half
century for the Peterites before they collapsed against the spin of
Madumal Jayaratne who also captured six wickets for 47.
St. Peter's College then ended the day on 79 for 5 in their second
innings with an overall lead of 180 and with five wickets in hand.

Left arm spinner Dilanka Auwardt returned career best figures of
eight wickets for 40 as St. Benedict's College took major honours in
their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against S. Thomas›
College which ended in a draw at Kotahena yesterday.

Skipper Indika Massalage scored twin fifties as Thurstan College
forced a draw to their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match
against D. S. Senanayake College concluded at Thurstan College grounds
yesterday.
