Public cautioned of suicide attacks

The Government yesterday urged the public to be extra vigilant due to the possibility of LTTE targeting civilians following the fall of Kilinochchi.

Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena appealed to the medias to make the public aware of possible suicide attacks carried out by the LTTE targeting the innocent civilians in buses, trains and other public places.

The Government and private medias made a great contribution in making the public aware of the danger.

Minister Abeywardane noted that as the military operations to liberate Mullaithivu have been intensified several dozen LTTE cadres have entered the Colombo City.

Minister said that as they may target the public, we must be vigilant to avoid the loss of human lives.
