Stir in House over roundabout demo

Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara yesterday urged the House to raise a privilege matter if any inconvenience was caused to any Parliamentarian due to the demonstration held at the Parliament roundabout yesterday morning.

The Speaker further said that he was officially informed by the IGP about this demonstration in order to provide maximum security to the MPs on their way to Parliament.

The IGP had assured that he would make all arrangements in this regard.

The Speaker was replying to a question raised by Chief Opposition Whip Joseph Michael Perera.
