Govt. will romp home - Minister

Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardane yesterday stated the UPFA will record a landslide victory in the coming Central and North Western Provincial Council elections.

He said United National Party (UNP) North Western Provincial Council member D.M. Bandaranayake joined the UPFA and will contest under the UPFA.

Minister Abeywardane expressed confidence that another set of 20 prominent UNPers will join the UPFA within two or three weeks.

Minister Abeywardane noted that the Central and North Western Provincial Councils are regions where diverse ethnic and religious groups live, the victory will mean that all communities support the Government without any race, caste, religious and ethnic differences.
