Census on Provincial Council election staff

District Returning Officers in the Central and Wayamba Provinces have commenced census on the election staff and entertaining applications for postal votes in connection with the forthcoming Wayamba and Central Provincial Council elections.

The final date for receiving applications for postal votes has been fixed for December 31. No further extensions will be granted.

Therefore, teachers relevant districts should call over at their schools on December 18 and 19 and make inquiries from principals. If returning officers have already communicated to the principals on the proposed census of staff and the postal votes, they should hand over the perfected postal vote applications to the certifying officer and the perfected census note to the principal. If no communication is received from returning officers they may make inquiries from the Deputy Elections Commissioner / Asst. Elections Commissioner of the relevant district election officers.
