STC-Exide power batteries to help automotive sector - Trade

The Government's expenditure on the automotive sector could be
minimised considerably if it depended on the State Trading Corporation
(STD) for its automotive power requirement, said Trade, Marketing
Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardane.
Requirement of power batteries of any public sector organisation
could be met with a local manufactured STC-Exide power batteries which
are available at STC at the price discount of five percent.
Browns Ltd will provide a two and a half year warranty inclusive of a
post purchased service in case of a sudden power failure in a vehicle,
Minister Gunawardana said.
Minister Bandula Gunawardane was addressing the media at an event of
signing an trade agreement between STC and Browns Group of Company at
the Ministry auditorium yesterday.
The STC will be appointed the sole distributing agent for marketing
STC-Exide power batteries, a locally manufacturing product from Browns
Group of Company following this agreement. Minister Gunawardana said
under the directions of Mahinda Chintana, his Ministry was bound to
promote local productions and reduce expenditure on imports.
The trade agreement was signed between the Chairman of STD Pradeep
Gunawardene and Executive Director of the Browns Group of Company Ishara
Nanayakkara. |
