Rs. 60m invested for the project:
Korea helps dispose garbage
A Sanitary Garbage Retainer will be constructed for the first time in
Sri Lanka at Waga in Avissawella electorate. This project is undertaken
by the Central Environmental Authority and the National Garbage
Management Programme with the financial assistance coming from the South
Korean Government.
This huge project, once implemented, will solve the garbage problem
faced by the local Government Authorities, namely Maharagama Urban
Council, Seethawakapura UC and Pradeshiya Sabha and Homagama Pradeshiya
Sabha.
The cost of the project is Rs. 60 million. Similar sanitary retainers
are also to be constructed at Anuradhapura, Galle, Polonnaruwa, Kalutara,
Kandy and Gampaha districts in the future. |
