It was only a few days ago that the Mathematics paper created
confusion to disturb the concentration of students with a repetition of
a question.
Parents of students expressed doubts over the proofreading of the
Islamic paper in the English medium.
Glaring errors have been detected in the first question paper that
consisted of 40 MCQ questions and seven queries in the second paper.
“Never mind the religious words, look at the many mistakes in the
simple English words,” a parent who perused the exam paper to the Daily
News expressed anger. “There were many mistakes in the religious words
as well,” he contended.
When contacted by the Daily News, Examinations Commissioner Anura
Edirisinghe said he would look into the complaint for action. “There is
a Board that approves the final proof,” the Commissioner said when asked
who was in charge of the basics like grammar, spelling and content in a
question paper prepared by the Examinations Department.
