KOKAVIL: Troops att-ached to the 57 Division
yesterday took control of Kokavil, a key town on the A-9 road in the
south of Kilinochchi after advancing three Kilometres southwards

CID allowed to scrutinise Sakvithi’s bank accounts
Nugegoda Chief Magistrate and Additional
District Judge Wasantha Jinadasa yesterday allowed an application by
the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probing the massive
financial racket alleged to have been carried out by the “Sakvithi
Ranasinghe Construction Company” to pursue the bank accounts of the
main suspect Sakvithi Ranasinghe, who is alleged to have left the
country.

Bhaila yesterday told Parliament that Sri Lankan Ambassador in
Thailand Prof. J. B. Dissanayake had been instructed to issue
passports to Sri Lankans who have been stranded in Bangkok, Thailand
to bring them back to the country via Malaysia.
