Sea Tiger gathering point destroyed

Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said a Sea Tiger gathering point was destroyed by the Air Force on Thursday night in Pooneryn.

Air Force gunship MI-24 helicopter carried out an air raid targeting the LTTE Sea Tiger gathering point. The LTTE suffered heavy casualties.

"The air raid was launched at around 11.00 p.m. and the target was in Pooneryn, Jaffna," Wing Commander Nanayakkara said.

He said the air strike was conducted following information provided from ground intelligence sources and air surveillance.
