Navinna Ayurvedic Institute to treat cancer patients
The Navinna Ayurvedic Research Institute has commenced treating
cancer patients following the success in research made on the indigenous
medicine to treat the disease.
Cancer patients can visit the Navinna Ayurveda Institute for
treatment every Wednesday at the Navinna Ayurvedic Research Institute
from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
It has been confirmed that spreading of cancer could be controlled by
immunising the cancer patient with indigenous medicine. Directress of
the Ayurvedic Research Institute and Consultant Dr. (Mrs) Dayangani
Senasekara said that life expectancy of cancer patients could be
extended enabling them to lead a normal life.
According to statistics there were 13,364 cancer patients reported in
2005, (7,306 females and 6,058 males).
The Ayurvedic Research Institute and Institute of Indigenous Medicine
jointly with Kelaniya University, Kalubowila Hospital, University of
Colombo and Sri Jayawardenapura University are conducting research on
liver cancer.
Results are expected by the Navinna Ayurvedic Research Institute in a
few months time. |
