Credit card fraud:

Hearing fixed for February 9

When the case against three suspects involved in a credit card fraud was called before Kandy Chief Magistrate Sumudu Premachandra yesterday, the Magistrate fixed hearing for February 9 next year.

In this case, three suspects from Muruthalawa, Veyangoda and Galle are indicted with having defrauded a furniture dealer at Peradeniya Road, Kandy on December 17 last year in Rs. 2.6 million by tendering a forged credit card for the payment of goods purchased.

Attorney A. Jameel appeared for the plaintiff. The Kandy Police Frauds Bureau handled investigations.
