Shameera steers Joes to seven wicket win

Skipper Shameera Weerasinghe took a matchbag of ten wickets and hit an unbeaten half century as St. Joseph's College defeated Isipatana College outright by seven wickets in their inter-school cricket tournament match concluded at the BRC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

Isipatana: 122 and 203 (P. Vimukthi 20, C. Waduge 28, S. Premaratne 53, T. Ranasinghe 52, S. Weerasinghe 5 for 64)

St. Joseph's: 203 (D. Dhambarage 22, T. Ranasinghe 4 for 26) and 123 for 3 (S. Weerasinghe 60 n.o., H. Silva 32, C. Waduge 2 for 53) C.D.

Yohan Sakvithi hit a splendid 116 from 131 deliveries with 20 boundaries to help De Mazenod College reach 208 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school cricket tournament match against S. Thomas' College which began at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
