Appointment of teacher instructors, CM orders inquiry

Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake has instructed his Chief Secretary to hold an inquiry into the allegation that teachers with less qualifications have been selected for appointment as teacher instructors contrary to the decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Central Provincial Council.

A competitive test had already been held and the successful candidates were interviewed to fill 237 vacancies.

All appointments have been suspended till the outcome of the inquiry.
