Rs. 18 million for Samurdhi housing in Kurunegala

A sum of Rs. 18 million has been granted to 360 Samurdhi beneficiary
families in the Kurunegala district, this year for the construction of
houses.
According to W. M. Chamith Ashoka Bandara, District Samurdhi Co-ordinating
officer, one house will be constructed in each Samurdhi zone that has
been set up in 30 D.S. divisions in the district. Work on 50 houses has
already been completed by now.
A sum Rs. 50,000 has been granted to each family for this purpose.
Arrangements have also been made to get the labour contribution of the
Samurdhi organisations through Samurdhi officers.
This housing project is implemented under the “Jathika Saviya-Gama
Neguma” programme and money has been granted by the Samurdhi Authority”
said the Co-ordinating officer. |
