Test paper shortage extends exam hours

The second term test in several schools in the Galewela Educational
Zone was held for more than two hours due to a shortage of question
papers inconveniencing teachers and students, sources said.
The exam had not commenced till 10 a.m. in several schools and
teachers were compelled to make a long trek to the town to take
photocopies copies of question papers to meet the shortage, they said.
The term test was held from July 21 to 26 in the four provinces.
Nineteen schools in Dambulla did not receive adequate question papers.
Zonal Director of Education Galewela Jayantha Bandara said the
shortage of question papers inconvenienced to principals and the
teachers of several schools. He said the examination was held by the
Education Ministry and not by the Zonal Education office.
The Director said he informed the matter immediately to the Ministry. |
