Demonstrating its commitment to add value to the Information
Communication Technology (ICT) industry in the country, DialogTelekom,
has come forward to sponsor Infotel 2008 as the strategic partner-
Communications and Broadband. Infotel 2008 is one of the biggest ICT
showcases in Sri Lanka.
The week long ICT event commencing on October 27, will bring together
various segments of the IT industry including industry experts,
professionals, academics and the user community on to a single platform.
Group Chief Commercial Officer, Dialog Telekom Thivanka Rangala,

We believe that this event will be an ideal opportunity for

industry’s unique business drivers and logistic needs” he added.
Infotel 2008 will not only display hardware and software solutions
but will also feature a ‘career section’ which will serve as a career
guidance centre for job seekers and students aspiring to take up ICT for
their higher studies.
The event, which will be held in conjunction with the national ICT
week, will be an effective meeting place for both service providers and
prospective local and foreign clientele.
The 10th International IT Conference (IITC) organised by the
University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) and Cyber Security Week
are other events that will be held as parallel events to Infotel 2008.
e-Sri Lanka segment which is a new addition to the event, aims to
create awareness among the general public to use more online services
for their requirements. Infotel 2008 will comprise of over 250 stalls
and nearly 25000 guests are expected to participate at the event.

Suntel Employee Children Awards
winners: The award winners received their prizes from the MD of
Suntel at a special ceremony held recently in a five star hotel.
The recipients and their parents were hosted by the Management
Team of Suntel in celebrating the event.

Suntel is rewarding their employees children who have opened
themselves to the world with their exceptional performance in education:
an initiative as an aim to appreciate the effort of their staff and
their families in uplifting Suntel to be one of the best companies in
the country.
MD, Suntel Ltd. Jeremy Huxtable commenting on this initiative said
“Suntel believes that a portion of our earnings should be allocated to
develop the education in our country. It is a practiced philosophy in
our company that all our operations need to be conducted in a socially
acceptable manner”.
Suntel Employee Children Awards consists of three categories: the
year five scholarship exam, ordinary level exam and the advanced level
exam where the children are required to meet a stringent criterion. The
three students who attain the highest results for a year were selected
from each of the three categories and were rewarded with cash award.
