New Deputy Speaker assumes duties

Puttalam district UPFA MP Priyankara Jayarathne who assumed duties as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament said he would take every step to ensure security of all the MPs. He also said he would do his best to perform all the duties under his supervision.

After assuming duties Jayarathne thanked President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka and all the members for electing him unanimously to the post.
