Tigers fire at bus killing four
LTTE targets Kataragama festival pilgrims :
Four people including a mother and a son and two
other females were killed and 25 others sustained injuries yesterday
as LTTE cadres hiding in the Yala National Park opened fire at a Sri
Lanka Transport Board bus plying from Moneragala to Kataragama.

Leader of House rejects JVP claim
Leader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala de
Silva yesterday completely rejected the claim made by the JVP that
1,500 Indian soldiers are due to come to Sri Lanka to provide
security to Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who will attend
the 15th SAARC Summit to be held in Sri Lanka on August 2.
