Schools colours awards for 133 young sports stars
The 15th annual schools colours award ceremony organised by Sri Lanka
schools sports council, Ministry of Education in association with Nestle
Lanka Ltd is scheduled to be held July at the Bandaranaike Memorial
International Conference Hall commencing at 2.00 p.m.
A total of 133 young sports stars selected from 133 schools from all
parts of the country are to receive award on this day.
The most interesting feature this year in the receiving of awards by
sporting stars from the North and East. Last time there were no
representation from these two provinces. Colours recipient were selected
from the following sporting disciplines.
Swimming -39, Gymnastic -19, Athletics - 74, Hockey -33, Badminton
-29, Judo- 19,Basketball - 27,Kabaddi- 05,Boxing -09,Karate - 11,Carrom
-08, Netball - 16,Cricket -20,Soft ball Cricket- 06,Football- 21,Rugby
Football- 04,Table Tennis- 11,Volleyball - 26, Throwball -13,Wushu - 04,

sportsman and sportswoman awards
