Mahanama crush DSS

Mahanama powered their way through to trounce D.S. Senanayake by 43
points (4 goals, 3 tries) to 7 (1 goal) in their school rugby encounter
played at Longden Place yesterday.
Mahanama’s fast set of runners completely dominated the match as D.S.
Senanayake couldn’t keep up to the pace. The winners started off well
when flanker Ralston Jansz scored off a line out to which Mahesh
Kumarasinghe added the extra points.
Three more tries were scored by M. Shamil (2) and Lahiru Sachitra (1)
to which Mahesh Kumarasinghe made one conversion.
At the breather Mahanama led 24-0.
On resumption Mahanama continued their try spree when number 8
Sameera Sampath collected the ball off a rebound and ran 25 meters to
score. Kumarasinghe added the extra points. D.S. Senanayake reduced the
gap when Asiri Magulagama scored off a push over try which scrum half
Danushka Gunatileka made no mistake with the conversion.
During the dying stages of the game tempers falted and a couple of
players were involved in fistcuffs, but it was brought under control and
Mahanama struck twice through Yasira Dias for Sahan Umagiliya to add the
extra points.
