Tigers active in Mumbai, Bangalore

INDIA: The LTTE is reported to be active in Mumbai and Bangalore for the purpose of sourcing explosives. Indian intelligence agencies have warned Police forces of the two cities regarding the activities of LTTE operatives.

Police seized a 500 kilo consignment of chemicals at Madurai in southern Tamil Nadu state last month. Its origin has now been conformed as Bangalore.

The chemicals consignment contained diphenylamine sulfates, chlorate salts and acids which can be altered to make explosives. It was to be handed over to several Indians and Sri Lankans, who were due to smuggle it to Sri Lanka.
