Lunawa environment promotion gets tractors, technical equipment

Maintenance of canals in the Lunawa, Dehiwala, Mt. Lavinia and Moratuwa areas will be handed over to the relevant Municipal Councils, said Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardene.

The Minister handed over Rs. 7.5 million worth seven tractors and technical equipment to Lunawa Environment Promotion and Community Development Project (LEPCDP) at a ceremony at Dehiwala Janajaya Reception Hall.

The LEPCAD has implemented various projects including the maintenance of canals in the above areas. The trailers for the tractors too will be distributed.

Gunawardane said these tractors have been distributed to these areas to expand maintenance activities being carried out.
