Hotel Show begins July 11

Colombo's main exhibition venue SBMEC comes alive from July 11 to 13 when the hospitality industry's biggest event Hotel Show 2008 is staged.

The biennial exhibition is to be held for the fifth time since its introduction in 1998. It has grown in stature to be the most sought after event of the hospitality industry.

The event organised by the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association, (CHSGA) together with Lanka Exhibition Services Ltd, (LECS) as the professional exhibition organiser has been to fulfil all details expected from the event by all stakeholders.

The hoteliers, restaurateurs, developers of the hospitality industry on one side while providers of supplies and services in the form of principals, agents and distributors on the other create themselves with great business opportunities with numerous mutual benefits.

Industry personnel find it easier and cost effective to travel to Colombo than flying out of the country to seek for things for their operations.

It makes business sense for suppliers to bring their goods and services to the doorstep of a captive market of small and big operators of the industry where they could meet all decision makers of the industry within three days.

Organisers consider this to be one of the secrets of success of the event. The exhibition, together with concurrent events includes presentations on professional development by well known speakers and the latest addition to the event, the informal meeting place and Hawker Street food fiesta will make the venue a hive of activity.

Exhibitors from UK, Germany, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Austria, Italy, Australia and Turkey will display their exhibits along with local counterparts.

Maldives remains a leading overseas buyer market in addition to Sri Lanka's hospitality industry.

Hotel Show 2008 has already sold its full stall capacity with only a few units remaining.
