Vallibel increases Hayleys stake
Deals in Hayleys PLC and John Keells Holdings PLC boosted turnover at
the Colombo Stock Exchange to Rs 691.4 million.
The broader market ASPI gained 2 points to close at 2,481 while the
MPI, which tracks the most liquid stocks, gained 18 points (0.6%) to
close at 3,005.
High profile investor Dhammika Perera increased his stake in Hayleys
to 11.09% with the purchase of 2.5 million shares, making him the second
largest shareholder after the D S Jayasundera Trust. Hayleys accounted
for Rs 340.5 million of the day's turnover.
Hayleys closed at Rs 132.00.
John Keells Holdings contributed Rs 213.4 million to turnover and the
share closed at Rs 112.50 while Vallibel Power Erathna contributed Rs
36.5 million.
The latter closed at Rs 4.10. Other noteworthy price changes were in
Dialog Telekom which closed up at Rs 14.00, picking up from the low of
Rs 12.75 it reached a week ago. |
