NCC condemns bomb attacks

The National Christian Council (NCC) of Sri Lanka yesterday condemned the two bomblasts in Katubedda and Polgolla last week which killed several civilians.

The National Christians Council of Sri Lanka in a release said: We categorically condemn all these acts of violence, very specially the two in railways and another two in buses, three in Colombo and one in Kandy. We express our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of the diseased. We pray for the injured and those who attend tirelessly on the injured. We pray for their speedy recovery.

It is widely believed that the LTTE is responsible for these brutal acts of violence and killings.

We very earnestly appeal to the LTTE to have sanity and stop killings. We are more than certain that the best way forward is through a negotiated settlement and appeal to all concerned to come to a negotiated settlement, the release says.
