Lanka Bell Wayamba in thrilling win

All rounder Jeewantha Kulatunga hit an unbeaten 46 and shared a last wicket stand of 46 runs with Chanaka Welagedera as Lanka Bell Wayamba pulled off a thrilling one wicket victory over Lexmark Basnahira South with two balls to spare in their inaugural SLT Inter Provincial Twenty20 limited overs tournament match worked off at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

Kulatunga who captained Colts CC during the recent SLC Premier League tournament and playing on his home grounds hoisted three sixes and struck two boundaries during his 35 ball knock as Wayamba overtook Basnahira South total of 118 runs in the final over of the match.

Lexmark Basnahira South: 118 for 9 in 20 overs (M. Warnapura 25, D. Perera 22, H. Wickremaratne 28, A. Polonowita 18, C. Welagedera 2 for 23, S. Karunanayake 3 for 20, J. Kulatunga 2 for 27).

Lanka Bell Wayamba: 119 for 9 in 19.4 overs (J. Mubarak 19, J. Kulatunga 46 n.o., G. Rupasinghe 2 for 32, M. Siriwardena 4 for 22).

De Saram steers Ruhuna to victory

Skipper Indika de Saram hit a sparkling unbeaten knock of 43 to steer Hirdaramani Ruhuna to a convincing eight wicket victory over East West Schools Invitation XI in their SLT Inter Provincial Twenty20 limited overs tournament match played at the BRC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

De Saram was in tremendous form collecting his runs from just thirteen deliveries with the help of five sixes and two boundaries as Ruhuna overtook their opponents total of 126 runs with eight overs to spare which also earned them an extra bonus point.

East West Schools Invitation XI: 126 in 19.2 overs (K. Perera 56, C. Peiris 21 n.o, A. Prasad 2 for 29, S. Senanayake 2 for 16, S. Weerakoon 2 for 21).

Hirdaramani Ruhuna: 127 for 2 in 11.4 overs (Y. De Silva 24 n.o., U. Tharanga 28, D. Lokuhettige 31, I. De Seram 43 n.o.)

Pathirana 3 for 16

Sri Lanka youth cap Sachith Pathirana produced a fine spell of bowling as MAS Holdings Kandurata pulled off a hard fought three wicket victory over E Wis Basnahira North in their SLT Inter Provincial Twenty20 limited overs tournament match played at the Colts CC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

E Wis Basnahira North: 122 for 9 in 20 overs (K. Silva 60, S. Pathirana 3 for 16, J. Mendis 2 for 20).

MAS Holdings Kandurata 123 for 7 in 18.3 overs (I. Senaratne 26, T. Samaraweera 46, K. Weeraratne 20, M. Pushpakumara).
