Golf extravaganza the American Expressway

Coming out to break fresh ground would be the Nations Trust Bank when it will for the first time sponsor a Stableford Golf Tournament.

This inaugural competition by NTB, takes place on Friday, April 25 and concludes on Saturday April 26, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. The tournament which will proceed on the Stableford format, is open to all men and ladies of the RCGC with a valid handicap.

Those competing have been categorised into 5 groups viz; A, B, C, D and E. The prevailing handicaps in the first three are 0-9, 10-18, 19-28. Group D is set apart for seniors and Group E is meant for Nations Trust - American Express invitees without a valid handicap. The handicap for ladies will be 0-28.

With the intention of accommodating more players, the competition for the seniors and ladies will commence at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, April 25 while in the Men's tournament play will commence at 1.00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up of the handicap groups for men A-D with the Nations Trust - American Express Challenge Trophy being made for the highest Stableford score (overall winner).

Trophies will also be made to the winner and Runner-up of the ladies section. The awards ceremony and fellowship will be held at the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday, April 26.
