Demand for industrial ventures in H'tota district - Minister Chamal

There is a great demand for various industrial ventures in Hambantota
district with the speedy development activities carried out, said the
Minister of Ports and Aviation, Chamal Rajapaksa.
He was addressing a meeting that followed the distribution of loans,
appliances, apparatus and machinery for self employed among women in
fisher families.
The function was held at Singapore Welfare Centre, Siribopura,
Hambantota new town.
The Minister said, the entrepreneurs in Hambantota district must make
up their minds to promote their existing industrial ventures from now,
so that when the first phase of the Hambantota sea port comes to an end
they will be able to supply their products to the foreign market.
The Minister said the women in the district have taken to various
self-employment ventures. This is a good sign of prosperity. The women
community in Hambantota district is in the forefront. They have even set
an example to others in other districts.
Minister of Water Supply Mahinda Amaraweera said that women in
Hambantota district have been empowered by various organisations.
