World HR congress in London

President Institute of Personnel Management Lalith Wijetunga
represents Sri Lanka at the 12th World HR Congress of World Federation
of Personnel Management Association (WFPMA) which is being held from
April 14-17 at Excel in London this year.
Wijetunga who left for UK to participate at the congress on Saturday
said the world HR congress offers a great prospect for HR professionals
from around the world to come together to network,learn and shape the
future of the professions’s contribution to the changing world at work
and being able to participate at this event is a great privilege to the
Institute.
The WFPMA is a global network of professionals in people management
where Sri Lanka is also a member. Was founded in 1976 to aid the
development and improve the effectiveness of professional people
management worldwide.
It consists of continental federations which are made up of more than
70 national personnel associations representing over 400,000 people
management professionals.
WFPMA holds the biennial World HR Congress to enable HR professionals
to build a global community of peers, share experiences and discuss new
developments.
A number of master classes namely on Re energising the Organisation,
Creating a Culture of Engaging Leadership, Mind and Brain in the 21st
Century, Killer Culture are among the today’s events by eminent and
world reknown HR Gurus such as Professor Beverly Alimo, Guy Sutton. The
event is hosted by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPD)
