First Indian Spence-managed hotel opens Sunday

Romano Retreat-the first of the three leisure rich and diversified blue chip Aitken Spence managed boutique hotels in India will be opened by Anant Raj Industries Chairman Ashok Sarin this Sunday.

The Romano chain will have three hotels in New Delhi. While Romano Retreat will be the first, the second will be Romano Exotica will be opened in August and the Romano Towers will be opened in November. The total room strength of the three hotels will be 210.

The fact that the developer and owner of these hotels Anant Raj Industries Ltd, an Indian property giant selected Aitken Spence ahead of international brands such as Hilton, Sheraton was a vote of confidence in the way we manage hotels, Aitken Spence Director Operations in India S.V. Ranasinghe told the Daily News Business from New Delhi.

He said the New Delhi leisure market was booming and the average room rate was skyrocketing compared to other global markets, which would make a positive contribution to the Aitken Spence bottomline.

It was very decisive for us, he added. The confidence levels in the Aitken Spence Hotel Management quality has been great that the key four resource personnel were provided in-house training and insights at the Spence Hotels of Bentota Beach, Kandalama, Earl's Regency and Heritance, Ahungalla.
