Allegations on Madhu Shrine unfounded

The Government yesterday categorically denied allegations emanating from certain quarters that Sri Lankan Security Forces have been shelling the Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu, sacred to the Catholic community, and held in high esteem by all communities in Sri Lanka.

Military rejects Tiger allegations on Madhu

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara yesterday rejected the LTTE's latest charges over the Scared Madhu Church, stressing that the Army was neither shelling nor conducting military operations towards the holy shrine.
