Randima shines at Otters Open Squash Championship

The Otter Aquatic Club's ninth Open Squash Championship, organised and conducted by the Sri Lanka Squash Federation, turned out to be most memorable for Randima Ranaweera, who in the finals held last Saturday at the club courts won the girls under 19 title, and then did well to win as well the women's open.

In the girls under 19, Randima got the better of the girls under 15 winner, Nandini Udangawa and in the women's open, Randima beat the girls under 17 winner Damindi Udangawa who won a five setter over Sharya Guruge.

The mens's open was won by the seasoned, Navin Samarasinghe, who beat Eranga Amunugama in three straight sets with the first set being fought out evenly. There were quite a few matches which were long drawn out going into 4 and 5 setters.
