IT professionals vital for country's development - Minister

The National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) has identified the social responsibility and well-being by which the NIBM is producing professionals for the information technology sector, Vocational and Technical Training Minister Piyasena Gamage said. The Minister was addressing the 10th graduation ceremony of NIBM last Friday.

At the ceremony 96 students were offered Bachelor of Science degrees by the Minister.

The graduates, the outcome of the NIBM as computer professionals would serve the nation in private and Government institutions and contribute to development while catering to human resources requirement. "These graduates will perform in the information technology sector which is among the fastest growing sectors in the world.

They contribute to the country's development fulfilling individual responsibility to the nation," the Minister said.

The NIBM offers degrees in Information Technology with the assistance of the National University of Ireland.
