Moratu Vidyalaya beat Taxila Central, Horana by 113 runs in their inter-school division one under twenty limited over cricket match played at Moratuwa for the Lemonade Cup.

Vidyalians piled up 259 runs with Lasitha Madushanka scoring an elegant 105 runs.

In reply visitors were bowled out for 146 runs with H. Saranga top scoring with 45 runs.

Prince of Wales College is in a comfortable position at the end of day one in their inter-school under twenty division one cricket tournament match against Royal College, Colombo at Moratuwa for the Lemonade Trophy.

Winning the toss and elected to bat Cambrians consolidated gradually and declared at 252 for 7 with three good knocks coming from Sanka Peiris 76, Nayana Priyanjana 59 and Lahiru Sri Lakmal 50 runs.

Haroon Mawjood was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors with 3 for 99. When rain halted play at 4.15 p.m. Royalists were 84 for 4.

Palitha and Prema uncontested for top posts

The incumbent President and Secretary of the Sri Lanka Athletic Association General Palitha Fernando and Prema Pinnawala has got the nod to continue in their positions for a further term.

This decision was arrived at when the executive committee met yesterday to finalise the arrangement for the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

The above decision was passed unanimously by the Ex-Co (BP).
