Govt will act promptly to appoint CC

Media and Information Minister and Cabinet Spokesman Anura Priyadarshana Yapa asserted that prompt and necessary action would be taken to establish the Constitutional Council, when the recommendations of the Parliamentary Select Committee are known.

Buddha’s Sacred Hair Relics exposition at Veherahena today

The Sacred Hair Relics of the Buddha gifted to Sri Lanka by the Chitagong Purana Viharaya in Bangladesh and kept at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya was taken to the Kataragama Kirivehera premises in a special motorcade after a colourful religious ceremony at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday morning.
