Donation of musical instruments
On a request made by the principal of Elpitiya Kahaduwa Maha
Vidyalaya, Associated Motorways PLC donated musical instruments for the
complete Western band of the school.

The handing over was done by General Manager of the company Shehann
de Zoysa to the principal of the school A. P. G. Chandrasiri at a
ceremony held at the school on February 22.
Besides supporting identified under developed schools by donating
school uniforms, shoes and exercise books, Associated Motorways PLC also
support selected schools and youth centres on IT hardware, sports
equipment and musical instruments.
The donations are made to such schools after need analysis conducted
by the company. The company donated a complete set of eastern musical
instruments to Ranna Maha Vidyalaya, Hambantota which the company found
is being made of good use, by the students of this remote school.
The company is in the process of providing educational English
readers to such rural schools with Asia Foundation, whereby rural
schoolchildren will be able to read good English books. |
