Lanka promotes ‘Land like No Other’ at the ITB

Sri Lanka Tourism will re-introduce the island destination keeping to their familiar and veritable theme “A land like no other’ at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB). The event will be held from March 5 to 9 in Berlin Germany.

ITB is considered as the largest global event for the Travel Industry promoting domestic, inter-regional and International travel throughout the world.

This year Sri Lanka stall is planned to appear more open and inviting to the visitor by having adapted an open concept enabling visitors to make easier and more intense contacts and reconnaissance with Sri Lankan trade representatives as well as some of varied attractions of the island nation.

There will only be common area booths arranged in a more relaxed atmosphere with lounge areas for meetings and discussions with various attractions of the island depicted on large blow-ups suspending from high above the ceiling.

The usual facilities for meetings and one-to-ones and Internet access for the exhibitors to down load their e-mails direct at the pavilion will be provided Keeping to the tradition, Sri Lanka Tourism stakeholders in the sector are planning to participate at this event. The local trade expected to visit ITB includes hoteliers, Travel agents and other with tourism related services.

Messe Berlin and Miller Freeman held the first ITA-International Tourism Asia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in September 1999. The event brings together the organisers of the world’s biggest travel expo - Berlin’s ITB - and Miller Freeman, Asia’s biggest exhibition firm and publisher of TTG Asia.

Companies from around Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Americas will be able to meet a wide range of buyers from the fastest-growing markets in the world - those in Asia, the Pacific Rim and the West Coast of America.
