CEO of Sierra Global awarded Doctorate

Fernando has been awarded the degree of Professional Doctorate in
Business Administration (DBA) by research.
The Research Higher Degrees Executive Committee at the Swinburne
University of Melbourne, Australia has accepted the eight year long
research conducted on 'Partnering model between medium scale local
companies and large scale Multinational Companies' which has been
conducted under the supervision of the University.

This is Fernando's fifth University Degree where he has already
obtained his Bachelors of Business (major in marketing and human
resources management) degree from Swinburne University of Australia, and
further three Masters Degrees from RMIT University of Australia - Master
of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Project Management (MPM),
and Master of Engineering (major in Telecommunication Engineering).
Fernando (36) has not only mastered many of business and operational
areas through his continues studies but also gained 15 years experience
working in senior positions in the telecommunication industry in
Australia and Sri Lanka.
Fernando has been recruited to Ericsson Australia Pty Limited, one of
the leading telecommunication multinational organisations with presence
in over 100 countries as a fresh graduate in year 1994 as a Marketing
Assistant in their International Division.
He has worked through his career at Ericsson by moving up the
corporate ladder by becoming the Account Manager for New Zealand market,
Deputy Project Manager for Digitel Project in Philippines, Project
Manager for Managed Services of BTS, and finally Senior Project Manager
for Vodafone GSM Project in Australia before accepting the challenging
role as CEO for Sierra Global Network Private Limited in Sri Lanka.
After joining Sierra Group of Companies Fernando has expanded Sierra
Global Network Private Limited to become the market leader in
telecommunication infrastructure development particularly in GSM and in
more recent times in CDMA technologies.
Dr. Fernando will continue into further research exploring effects of
current globalisation patterns towards development of future
technologies particularly in the mobile telecommunication arena
combining his developed skills as well as international experience in
both business and engineering disciplines.
