Claymore kills two police personnel

Two Police personnel, including a Police Sub Inspector were killed as the LTTE detonated a claymore mine in Suduvendrapilau, Irattaperiayakulam in Vauniya yesterday morning, the military said yesterday.

The two Police Officers were traveling on a motorbike when they fell victim to the explosion.

Meanwhile, a Police Sergeant engaged in route clearing patrol in Palleayirakkam, North of Madhu junction was injured in yet another claymore mine attack by the LTTE.

The Policeman was admitted to Vavuniya hospital.
