Twelve teams vie for honours at Club Rugby Sevens

Twelve teams will take part in the first leg of the inter-club Rugby Sevens which will be worked off at Pallekelle on February 16 and 17, 2008. The tournament will be sponsored by Dialog GSM Limited.

Defending champions Kandy Sports Club, CR and FC, CH and FC, Havelocks, Army, Police, Air Force, Old Zahirians, Petersons, Jawatte Lions, Galle RFC and Kurunegala RFC will vie for honours in this first Sevens tournament for the year.

The second leg of the Club Rugby Sevens will be worked off at Longden Place on March 1 and 2, 2008.

Kandy Sports Club which has reigned supreme in ‘Sevens’ rugby having won it six years in a row will go all out to retain the Rugby Sevens title for a record seventh successive year.

The lads from Kandy won both tournaments held last year by beating CR and FC (28-5) at Radella and 15-7 at Longden Place in the finals of the cup championship.
