Ministerial Sub Committee on CoL meets
The Ministerial Sub Committee on Cost of Living (CoL) chaired by
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayaka yesterday met at the Prime
Minister’s Office and held extensive discussions on the financial crisis
faced by the CEB due to escalating fuel prices.
The committee during the discussions laid special attention to obtain
public views and suggestions before taking a final decision on the
electricity charges, a media release issued by the Prime Minister’s
Office said.
The Cabinet has directed the committee chaired by the Premier to
study and make recommendations whether the electricity charges should be
revised in keeping with the increasing fuel prices.
