SLCBC on ‘GSP Plus’

The Sri Lanka Canada Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will conduct a luncheon meeting on Tuesday February 12, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the “Earls Court”, Trans Asia, Colombo.

Head of Delegation, Delegation of the European Commission to Sri Lanka and the Maldives Julian Wilson will speak on ‘GSP Plus - Rules of Origin’.

This would be an ideal networking event, which would offer participants an excellent forum to meet Sri Lankan and expatriate counterparts.

Evening presentation by TMC

The Management Club (TMC) will hold a series of evening presentations this year for their members and guests on different topics in diverse fields.

The first in this series, titled ‘An evening with a Banker... the way forward’ will be held on Thursday, January 31 at 5.30 pm at the ‘Palm Lounge’ of Galle Face Hotel. The guest speaker will be Chairman of Hatton National Bank Rienzie Wijetilleke.

Fitch affirms ‘A-(lka)’ on PLC Trust

Fitch Ratings Lanka has affirmed the National rating on the Lease Backed Trust Certificates (LBTCs) issued by Peoples Leasing Company Trust Thirty Two (PLC32) at ‘A-(lka)’ (A minus(lka).

The rating addresses the timely payment of interest and capital on the LBTCs, which are backed by a pool of leases that were originated by People’s Leasing Company Ltd.

The affirmation of the current rating is based on the un-interrupted payouts made to LBTC investors during the period under review (March 2007-November 2007), the availability of credit enhancement to investors in the form of principal overcollateralisation (defined as excess principal of the underlying pool of leases/outstanding principal on the LBTCs), the meeting of the debt service cover .
