Six LTTE cadres killed

Six LTTE cadres were killed by the Security Forces in two isolated
clashes in the North yesterday morning. a haul of weapons too was
recovered, Military sources said.
The Security Forces launched an attack ahead of Nagarkovil FDL
yesterday at 7.00 a.m. "An LTTE bunker was completely destroyed. Three
Tiger cadres were killed in the attack."
In a separate incident three LTTE cadres were killed when troops
confronted a group of Tigers in the Muhamalai FDL yesterday at 10.40
a.m.
Troops conducted a search operation following a tip-off from a
civilian and recovered a micro pistol and a magazine yesterday. The
incident occurred in Manalkadu, Point Pedro.
"The pistol was buried in an abandoned land," sources added.
Meanwhile, Tiger cadres detonated a claymore mine targeting Security
Forces foot patrol last morning in Varikkotuwa, Vavuniya.
The LTTE triggered off the claymore mine at 10.50 a.m. killing one
soldier and injuring two others.
