As part of the mega promotion in India undertaken by Sri Lanka
Convention Bureau together with SriLankan which includes wide ranging
activities to encourage Indian corporates to have their meetings in Sri
Lanka, a successful event was carried out at the annual event organised
by Cox and Kings for their corporates in Mumbai recently.
Sri Lanka Convention Bureau made a maximum use of the slot negotiated
with Cox and Kings to make a presentation and to present a Cultural show
during the event.
Chairman, Prema Cooray, addressing over 150 top corporates, explained
the facilities available in Sri Lanka for corporate meetings and the
value that the corporates would receive. SriLankan Airlines elaborated
the flight connectivity while Channa Upuli dance foundation added
glamour to the event with a cultural performance.
The visit of SLCB also coincided with Ceylon Chamber of Commerce
signing a MOU with the Export-Import Bank of India.
Sri Lanka Convention Bureau with its main partner SriLankan Airlines
will continue to market Sri Lanka in India as a venue for Meetings
throughout 2008 with a target of at least 25 per cent increase in the
corporate meetings in which the spending power of the delegates is much
higher than holiday makers.
