Lankan media delegation visits Punjab University

A delegation of media personnel from Sri Lanka currently visiting Pakistan stressed the need for a cooperation between the two countries in the field of media, said a press release issued by the Punjab University's Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) on Monday.

The head of the seven-member group, Prabaghan Ratnasabapathy, said the Sri Lankan media wanted to establish bilateral relations with Pakistani media to promote academic and professional activities between the two countries.

"Pakistani media has made a great progress," he added. He said the ICS was one of the best institutes in South Asia.

The institute, he said, had introduced innovative trends in communication studies. ICS director Prof Mugheesuddin Sheikh said Pakistan always praised Sri Lanka's achievements in achieving high literacy rate.

"The ICS is always willing to provide help to Sri Lankan journalists," he said.
